MYSTIC BRANCH

Lifeguards
Under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Lifeguard will work on-deck for open swim, laps and Aquatic programs while instructor is teaching.  AED, CPR, First Aid, lifeguarding, Emergency Oxygen certs required.  Will also be responsible for water front guarding to include guarding camp children, guarding and instructing boating/canoeing and sculling.  Part Time, various days and shifts.  Mystic, Aaron Beauregard mysticaquatics@oceancommunityymca.org

Welcome Center
All shifts available. Cardiac Rehab Nurse
Responsible for providing a safe environment for our cardiac rehab members.  Must have successfully completed the AHA BLS or ACLS course and also be currently certified in CPR/AED/First Aid/ Emergency Oxygen Administration. Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning 7:00 am-8:45 am

WESTERLY-PAWCATUCK BRANCH

Youth and Family Director
Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing programs and activities related to pre-school, youth, teen and family enrichment.  This position oversees the Youth & Teen Center and all special events for families.  Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related field is necessary along with experience working with youth, teens, and families.  Strong skills in program development and management; supervision of staff and volunteers; verbal and written communication also needed.  Full Time, Westerly, Jennell Westervelt  jwestervelt@oceancommunityymca.org
Sports and Wellness Director
Responsible for planning, developing and implementing programs and activities related to toddler, pre-school, youth, adult and active older adult sports, wellness and recreation.  Program management, design and oversight is a large part of this position.  Along with supervision of part time staff and volunteers including recruiting, training, and developing.  Must have a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Sports & Leisure Management, Recreation or related field.  Experience supervising is also a plus.  First Aid, CPR, AED, Emergency Oxygen certification also necessary for this position.  Full Time, Westerly, Jennell Westervelt  jwestervelt@oceancommunityymca.org

Aquatics Director
Responsible for overseeing the Aquatics Department, which includes promoting and delivering quality programs, hiring and supervision of staff, budget development/management, and maintaining a clean and safe pool environment.  In addition, the Aquatics Director has overall management of the Swim Team and Swim Team parents’ organization as a principle activity.  Must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience in the aquatics field and in supervision or 7 years experience with increasing responsibilities.  Excellent communication and public relations skills are also needed.  Certifications in Lifeguard, CPR, AED, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, Lifeguard Instruction, CPO or POOL also necessary for this position.  Full Time, Westerly, Jennell Westervelt jwestervelt@oceancommunityymca.org

Waterfront Director
Responsible for organizing, managing and implementing all aquatic activities in accordance with the goals and objectives of the YMCA and Camp Watchaug.  Must be 21 years of age and have 1 to 3 years experience in YMCA and/or Camp Aquatics activities.  Must be a competent leader and possess supervisory skills.  Must hold current certification in Rhode Island Non-surf or Surf lifeguarding certification and Safe Boating certification.  CPR/AED/First Aid, Emergency Oxygen required, American Red Cross or equivalent.  Danita Ballantyne dballantyne@oceancommunityymca.org

Group Exercise Instructors – Silver Sneakers Class
Under the supervision of the Health & Wellness Director this will be an instructor for the boomers and above.  Teaching exercise to the aging population.  Candidates need to be certified in CPR and a Tivity-approved fitness credential, which include a current professional health or fitness license, or nationally recognized fitness instructor/trainer certification.  Also need to complete training workshop specific to the class format being offered.  Part Time, Westerly, Joshua Godfrey wpwellness@oceancommunityymca.org
