A fun, inspirational, four-week workshop on the art and craft of writing personal narrative/essay/memoir, for all levels of writers. All writing skill levels are welcome. The workshop focuses on the fundamentals of how to create a gripping, poignant narrative from your own life experiences. Classes are centered around in-class writing assignments, take-home readings, and brief writing assignments that will give you a chance to study and practice the techniques of good personal writing. As part of a community of fellow writers, you will have a chance to share your work with the class and receive helpful, constructive criticism. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have written at least one short (under 3,000 word) personal memoir.
