Now teens have a place to hang out, play video, bring snacks, and mingle with friends. The canteen is always staffed by a Y employee and they provide a safe, fun and clean space. Two hour maximum stay in the Canteen. Children aged 9 year to 12 years, must be signed in by parent and parent needs to stay in building. FREE with membership

Work your brain and body at the same time, while having fun! Jumping rope has been found to improve coordination and increase strength in muscles, contributing to a healthy lifstyle. Particpants in this class will learn jump roping skills and techniques as they engage in individual, partnering, and group activities. Opportunities for self-monitoring will promote growth and confidence. This class has a maximum of 12 students so don’t delay in registering!
Special Guest: Schyler Davis, USA Jump Rope National Championships Participant, participant in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and assistant coach of the Pouncing Panthers Jump Rope Team, will be coming to give her advice to the team and also providing a workshop on July 11th.

A camera or phone is strongly suggested but not mandatory. The class will be taught by Chad Dexter, Jr.; owner of 86 Studios, who has been doing photography and videography for 9 years . YOUTH RACQUETBALL CLASS
This is a great class for beginners and novices looking to learn an exciting sport invented by the YMCA! Learn the basic skills and rules of the game. After this class, you will have the appropriate skills to play and score a match. Rackets will be provided by the Y.

DOLPHIN PUPS PRE SWIM TEAM
This class is a stepping stone for swimmers who may be interested in Transitioning from our progressive swim lessons, to possibly joining our Dolphins Swim Team. This class will include introduction to Butterfly and completion of the Breaststroke. Swimmers will practice more advanced racing techniques, underwater streamline, starts, and proper flip turns for each stroke. Not only will this class serve as a place to learn and build confidence, but swimmers and parents will get a glimpse of what it is like to be on swim team.

DODGE IT! DODGEBALL LEAGUE
Ages 6 – 12 in the Racquetball Court
Teams will be made the first class or different teams each class depending on enrollment. Organized games for 45 minutes. Staff lead and in a safe environment. Traditional 6 v 6 dodge ball. Need at least 10 participants.

The Tumbling class is for the athlete that is ready to learn or improve their tumbling. Ideal for competitive cheerleaders, dancers and anyone who is looking to gain advancement in their tumbling. This class will include in depth back handspring drills, mastering timing, confidence & basic tumbling. Participants attending this clinic should be able to demonstrate a handstand, bridge, and bridge kick-over (bridge kick-over from slightly elevated surface is acceptable).

Team Gymnastics Camp:
This Camp is for any gymnast whom has previously taken or is registered for the Team Gymnastics program. The camp will run for one week in July. The camp will be extra practice in helping proficient skills for the fall/winter meets.

The Leaders Club is a leadership development program for teens in Grades 6-12. The program includes weekly meetings; training component and Y volunteer opportunities (aquatics, sports, gymnastics, child care, etc.) In addition, teens will participate in training and social activities at local Y’s as well as across the Northeast. Leaders Club programs are one of the largest Y teen programs in the country. YOUTH WELLNESS CENTER TRAINING

Training Ages 11 –13 – 4 Week Class
This class will introduce teens ages 11-13 to the various cardio and resistance machines in the Wellness Center. Safety, proper form, fun and basic program design are the main focus of the program. After completing this course successfully, participants can use the equipment in the Wellness Center (with the exception of the Free Weight area) while accompanied by a parent or guardian.
