Darkness To Light/STEWARDS of CHILDREN

PARTNERING IN PREVENTION
The statistics are shocking. Studies indicate that 1 in 10 U.S. children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthdays.
Add to this the research showing that the long-term effects of child sexual abuse can include mental health problems, behavioral issues, and medical conditions, and it becomes clear that child sexual abuse isn’t just an issue for law enforcement, social service agencies, or nonprofit organizations – it affects everyone.

Darkness to Light is a national nonprofit with a mission to end child sexual abuse. We believe adults are responsible for the safety of children, and to that end, we engage a cross-section of adults and organizations in communities throughout the country with our nationally acclaimed curriculum, Stewards of Children®.

This program, developed for use by both youth-serving organizations and individuals committed to the safety of children, teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Stewards of Children uses an evidence-informed platform designed to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child protective behaviors.
