The YMCA is partnering with Play-Well TeKnologies. Young Jedi will explore worlds far, far away and engineering principles right in front of them. Defeat the Empire by designing and refining LEGO X-Wings, R2-units, and settlements on far-flung edges of the galaxy. Imagination and engineering combine to create motorized and architectural projects such as energy catapults, shield generators and defense turrets.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Catherine “Kate” Spina has been hired as the Health & Wellness Director at the Mystic Branch. Kate will focus on growing and developing our youth & teen wellness, Spinning & Group Exercise and adult, family and senior wellness programs. She will also develop new Healthy Living initiatives and lead our signature special events, like Tarzan Brown, Triathlon and Turkey Trot.
Kate has several years of progressive experience in the Health & Wellness field, including over three years in our Y organization. Kate also has a degree in Recreation. Her passion for healthy living and working with all ages to meet members personal wellness goals are tremendous assets and will serve her well in this new role. It gives us great pleasure to announce that Tricia Boucher has been hired as the Rink & Assistant Camp Director for the Ocean Community YMCA. Tricia will focus on the continued development and programing of the Ice Rink through the fall and winter, and assist with Camp Watchaug through the spring and summer.
Tricia has grown with us through several roles including the welcome center, teaching sports & enrichment classes, skating lessons, and more recently as the Administrative Assistant at the ice rink. She starts her new position on Monday, October 20th.
