Our Youth Basketball League (YBL) features basketball fundamentals, team play, sportsmanship, and skill development. Participants will practice together and be placed on a team. Team shirt included in registration. This program runs on Saturdays in the Winter.
The Ocean Community YMCA gymnastics program embraces the Y’s Mission by creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to become strong, confident gymnasts who are honest, responsible, respectful, and caring friends and teammates. Classes offered include boys and girls ages 18 months to 18 years progressing from infant exploration to competitive training- led by trained instructors who have a passion for teaching and know how to have fun along the way!
The Competition team is for the gymnasts who have mastered their Basic Skills and are ready to train at a higher level. They will learn the skills and routines required according to the rules set up by USA Gymnastics. They will compete at local and out-of-state competitions. Gymnasts will practice anywhere from three to eight hours a week. Pricing varies based on the gymnasts’ level. YMCA Rookie Sports is designed for kids who are new to sports and teaches basic skill development in soccer, basketball, and tee-ball. Players are introduced to sports through drills, gym games and team play. We aim to build confidence and enhance motor skills.
This program will introduce new sports skills for individuals with diverse emotional, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. Within a small group setting, this program will dive into the basics of basketball, volleyball, soccer and pickleball.
Our seven week soccer program is focused on helping our players develop teamwork and sportsmanship skills while learning the basics of soccer. Participants will learn age-appropriate basics of soccer including dribbling, passing, shooting, and field positions.

We are excited to offer indoor Pickleball at the Westerly-Pawcatuck and Naik Family Branches! This fun sport combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong and is played on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net. Pickleball can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels.

This league has been organized to offer players a slower brand of basketball for men ages 34+. Rules were adapted to allow older players to compete and make competition more even. In these classes you will continue to develop tap techniques with a focus on speed, transitions, and style. Students should be comfortable with basic tap vocabulary including cramp rolls, riffs, irishes, drawbacks, waltz clogs, maxi fords, and time steps.
