ICE RINK

Skate Guard
Responsible for keeping a safe environment on and off the ice for skaters of all ages and abilities.  This individual must be positive, friendly, well spoken, outgoing and practice proper customer service at all times.  Must be capable of assisting injured participants in need of quick response or others in need of basic help on the ice.  Must be a proficient ice skater and at least 16 years old.  Part time, Westerly ice rink, Jennell Westervelt jwestervelt@oceancommunityymca.org

Building Supervisor
Responsible for top quality member service and the security of the building.  This individual must be familiar with emergency procedures and available to respond to all situations requiring attention and assume control of any and all situations that may arise.  The supervisor will be the decision-making authority on site and enforce all Y policies.  This individual must be positive, friendly, well spoken, outgoing, practice proper customer service at all times and promote the mission of the Y at all times.  CPR/First Aid/AED required; American Red Cross or equivalent.  This individual must be at least 18 years old.  Part time, Westerly ice rink, Jennell Westervelt jwestervelt@oceancommunityymca.org

Utility Specialist

School’s Out Site Director
Responsible for planning, developing and implementing classroom activities.  Must be at least 21 and possess a minimum of an Associate’s degree.

MYSTIC BRANCH

Lifeguards
Under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Lifeguard will work on-deck for open swim, laps and Aquatic programs while instructor is teaching.  AED, CPR, First Aid, lifeguarding, Emergency Oxygen certs required.  Will also be responsible for water front guarding to include guarding camp children, guarding and instructing boating/canoeing and sculling.  Part Time, various days and shifts.  Mystic, Kristin Spirdione  mysticaquatics@oceancommunityymca.org

Responsible for providing a safe environment for our cardiac rehab members.  Must have successfully completed the AHA BLS or ACLS course and also be currently certified in CPR/AED/First Aid/ Emergency Oxygen Administration. Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning 7:00 am-8:45 am

Membership Engagement Director
Responsible for all operations of the Welcome Center and Child Watch teams.  Primary functions are to ensure the meeting of all membership and program sales goals, reporting, retention, revenue, and quality service goals; hire, train, and supervise professional teams of representatives that deliver high levels of consistent service; and maintain all registration databases.  This position requires a minimum of a high school degree plus at least two years in a customer service position with knowledge of data entry, computer operation, filing, and bookkeeping.  This individual must possess exceptional organizational skills, supervisory and training skills and have a broad knowledge and understanding of membership recruitment and retention strategies.  This position also must promote a positive, caring image to the members and be an advocate for the mission of the Ocean Community YMCA.  Full Time, Westerly, Jennell Westervelt jwestervelt@oceancommunityymca.org

Sports & Wellness Director

Group Exercise Instructors – Silver Sneakers Class
Under the supervision of the Health & Wellness Director this will be an instructor for the boomers and above.  Teaching exercise to the aging population.  Candidates need to be certified in CPR and a Tivity-approved fitness credential, which include a current professional health or fitness license, or nationally recognized fitness instructor/trainer certification.  Also need to complete training workshop specific to the class format being offered.  Part Time, Westerly, Joshua Godfrey wpwellness@oceancommunityymca.org
